Several millions of people in the world read the bible, believing it to be the word of God. Several millions of others believe it is simply a book written by men, from men's ideas. Is there evidence that The Bible is the inspired Word of God?

The purpose of this page is to present the evidence of God's inspiration of The Bible. Since the quantity of proof is immense and would require an extensive page, we have chosen to save space by providing links verifying different areas of biblical accuracy and proof. According to scripture, the bible is the inspired word of God and is so complete that it is the only text we need for direction on how to live and worship Yahweh (2 Timothy 3:16-17). God's word is truth (Psalms 31:5, Psalms 119:160, John 17:17, 1 John 5:6), and God cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18, 1 John 2:21). Since God cannot lie, then truth and accuracy will dominate the entire body of the scriptures. Let's look at some of the facts that support this claim:

To start with, there is a vast amount of scientific evidence supported in the bible that opposed the erroneous science of the times. For example: common teachings taught the earth was a flat land held propped upby a god (Atlas, etc.) or animals (giant turtles, elephants, etc.). However, The Bible correctly speak of the earth as being a sphere (Isaiah 40:22) not propped up by other things (Job 26:7). Other scientific evidence is on a smaller scale, yet just as meaningful:
There are places in scripture which mention hares as being cud chewers (Leviticus 11:6, Deuteronomy 14:7). Although this can seem like a small matter, this is actually significant. To this day, there are many people who do not realize this is fact; cud chewing isn't something people relate to rabbits. Yet The Bible mentions it, bold and true, in spite of what most people know.
Science has also shown the common ancestry of all humans date back to one human couple (Genesis 2:21-24), that water springs exist in the ocean floor (Genesis 7:11), and that water continually cycles (Amos 9:6); scientific facts that weren't known during the times the bible was being written. The fact that these scientific truths prevailed throughout the bible in spite of the errors of the times is a strong indicator that common man didn't author the bible.

Another thing to look at is the archaeological evidence supporting the people, places, and occurences in the bible. For example, in the bible is the story of the walls of Jericho miraculously falling flat (Joshua 6:1-23), a story of a global flood (Genesis chapters 6-8), and the existence of various rulers such as the Herods and the Caesars (Matthew chapter 2, Luke 2:1, etc.). All of these things have archaeological evidence to support the scriptures veracity.

On the basis of just these documents and finds, one can see that the bible is full of truth and accuracy, even in the face of the false beliefs and the myths of the times. According to the bible, Yahweh is a God of truth (Psalms 25:10). Thus, a book inspired by Him would contain truth, not the myths and legends of human thinking.
